I am so glad to see a website like this. I am a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and the benefits of membership have extended way past my four years in college.

When I moved to Memphis, I turned to their alumane chapter to meet friends and business contacts. From this, I have made some of my dearest friends, and this was long after my college graduation.

Being a member of a sorority gives you a bond with other women all across the United States. While I enjoyed my college experience, I didn't realize the true meaning of the sorority sisterhood until the mephis alumnae became my only friends.

Now many of my chapter members have reconnected on Facebook. It brings me such joy to reconnect with them.

While my daughter is only 2 years-old, these are the experiences I want for her if she decides to pledge a sorority.

My advice to parents: Look beyond what you see on TV and in movies. Look at the real women you know who are in sororities, and I can 99% guarantee that you would want your daughter to turn out like them.

I am so happy that my daughter, a Delta Gamma, sent me this site. She is flourishing in her college experience partly because of her sorority relationship(s). She will have bonds for a lifetime.

I completely concur with Jane's comments. I have found the alum relationships with my sorority sisters invaluable. When my husband and I moved, I was 8 months pregnant and had a 2 year old. I contacted the president of the alum club in my new city and had an immediate list of recommended pediatricians, ob, pre-schools, and toddler friendly parks with wading pools! That same 2 year old has just graduated from college and moved into her very first apartment. Her roommates? Sorority sisters who are helping each other navigate the world of work and fun beyond college.
